In Memory of Chuck Johns
Chuck Johns, longtime President of Yantis-Johns Insurance, was a fourth-generation Camp County resident who dedicated his life to serving the Pittsburg community and the clients of our agency. He graduated from Pittsburg High School and earned his degree from Texas A&M University. Chuck joined the family insurance agency in 1971, becoming the second generation to lead and grow Yantis-Johns Insurance.
Chuck and his wife, Sarah, returned to Pittsburg to raise their family. Together, they were blessed with three children and nine grandchildren. His love for family, community, and relationships defined both his personal life and his professional career.
Chuck served the community in many leadership roles, including:
-
Pittsburg City Council
-
Pittsburg School Board
-
Northeast Texas Community College Board
-
Cypress Bank Board of Directors
He was also active in First Methodist Church and the Rotary Club of Pittsburg, where he served as past president and was honored as a Paul Harris Fellow.
Chuck’s unique knowledge of Pittsburg and Camp County was a tremendous asset to Yantis-Johns Insurance. He had an in-depth understanding of local properties, families, and businesses, and he used that knowledge to help clients navigate coverage options and protect what mattered most. His guidance, integrity, and personal relationships shaped the agency and built trust that continues today.
Chuck passed away in 2025 following a tragic automobile accident. His loss is deeply felt by our team, our clients, and the entire community. Even after stepping back from day-to-day ownership, Chuck continued to come by the office, offering wisdom, encouragement, and friendship. His presence, steady leadership, and genuine care for others will be greatly missed.
Chuck was more than an insurance agent; he was a mentor, a friend, and a cornerstone of Yantis-Johns Insurance. His legacy lives on through the relationships he built, the values he instilled, and the countless lives he impacted.
He was loved by many and will never be forgotten.
